What's happening in school?

3rd July 2020
School is open to the children of key workers (and from 1st June preschool, reception, year 1 and 6 too). Here are some of the fun and creative activities we've been enjoying:

Bubble 1 made clay tree spirits and, after learning about the artist Andy Goldsworthy, created self-portraits on the field. They  have also collected petals to create flower and leaf printed fabric using the Hapa-Zome method. This is a Japanese term meaning 'leaf-dye.

Amazing Art
Bubble 1 has been exploring painting techniques including printing, watercolour painting and using rollers. The children produced some beautiful work including a garden, a black hole and a race track.

Environmental Art
Bubble 1 enjoyed collecting natural materials to create creatures. Can you recognise what they are? (Clue: fish, rabbits, gerbils and dogs are included...)

Fun in the Sun
Bubble 1 had fun in the sun when they designed their own wellbeing t-shirts and hats. The children decorated them with rainbows, butterflies, smiley faces and positive affirmations.

Outdoor Activities
We have been painting rocks in support of our NHS to dot around the local area so keep a lookout on your daily walk! We have also had fun pond-dipping for tadpoles in the lovely sunshine and planting some vegetable seeds.

Ready, Steady, Bake!
We had great fun making delicious chocolate crispie cakes. We saved some to take home for our families and Mr Moloney thoroughly enjoyed his with a cup of tea at break time!

The children and staff enjoyed making tree spirits to look after our school. Elongated bug slides and a bug house with magic tubes were designed, then we finished off with Giant Golf using huge tubes and footballs!
