Bamburgh Beach School Day - Seasons and Migration

Bamburgh class had a fabulous beach day. Once we had arrived, we
played an Animal migration Races to help us understand how different animals migrate and keep warm through movement. Then in groups we explored how nature changes through the seasons making large seasonal mandalas using materials found on the beach.
After lunch at the Hindmarsh hall, we created bird nests in the sand to help us understand how birds prepare for different seasons by making nests. Afterwards, we worked in teams pretending to be migrating animals and set up obstacles; so teams needed to work together to migrate across the beach by running, hopping, or crawling to reach their destination.
We had a super day, thank you Mrs Johnson and all our volunteers.

Hoopstarz
On Friday the 14th March Bamburgh class had great fun working with Debbie from Hoopstarz. We learnt how we could use hoops in lots of fantastic ways to have fun and exercise.

This half term we have had great fun learning about living things and their habitats. The class had great fun designing a microhabitat where living things could survive in our woodland area.
We also made 3D food chains and thought about how animals obtain their food from plants and other animals.

Bamburgh class had a super afternoon making their baby bear chair structures. They carefully followed their plans, selecting appropriate materials to make their creations come to life. The class tested their structures by placing a small toy onto their chair. They thought about what made their structures strong, stiff, and stable; and how they could reinforce their chairs to make them stronger using different construction techniques.
